For example some minor charges will be removed from your record after a certain period of time, depending on the nature of the crime involved.

Employers should also phone this helpline to confirm the process of tracking an applicant’s DBS check and for the correct procedure if a staff member is listed as barred. Furthermore you can call this helpline to submit a card payment over the phone to pay for an application, regardless of whether you are an employee or an employer.

You can phone the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS, previously known as CRB) from 8am-6pm Monday-Friday and 10am-5pm Saturday, although please note these opening times may be reduced on UK bank holidays. Calls will be charged at local rates, therefore normally a per-minute rate and an access charge will apply.
